    Leadership In Online Business

    “People build their teams as a unique way to help other people accomplish their goals which could not achieve as individuals. ”

    Virtually, we observed now a days different programs arise day by day. We don’t know if these programs are paying or not. We could say others are while others don’t.

    In the real setting, waking up in the morning, we hear buzzes of cars and jeepneys in the busy street, people get busy preparing for school and work but when you’re going to open the virtual world, you can see different people from different places promoting their different programs or online businesses, Recruiting new members to join their programs and earn. Now, Let me introduced to you the world of online business in online marketing.

    Online marketing in my own definition, based on experience, is an online business wherein everybody uses traffic exchanges, page ranking, backlinking and many more social media marketing tactics as their way of promoting just to be the number one in the search engines. Online marketers has only one goal – PROMOTE and GET NOTICED in the wide virtual world.

    Online marketing actually is too broad. There are lots of kinds of online marketing in the online business world. But let me just give one example of online business that will lead us to the topic – Multi Level Marketing (MLM) which is too popular.

    Without any research, I understand this online business as a program that earns commissions from the people who signed up under them with the products included. It is a networking business, direct selling, recruit referrals or pyramid selling. If nobody join under you, then you won’t earn, that’s why you need to PROMOTE the program you are joining and earn from those people of different parts of the world who joined using your referral link. So, you need to market the program you’re joining online and get much money in return!

    What if I don’t know online marketing?

    If you don’t know online marketing, these online business is not for you. Why? It will be useless after all joining the program and you don’t know how to market that. How will you earn? You’re just wasting your money.

    And because of that, a person, who wanted to help other people, build their teams to help and give those who are not skilled in marketing an opportunity to join the program and earn. They found them through the ads or found it in different social networking sites where they keep on promoting and spreading the online opportunities everywhere online. Work-team relationship is a unique way of reaching people both in offline and online business. This is where we find that people joining in the team are helping each other since people who engaged into this has one common goal “to earn and be financially secure”.

    Another lesson I learned, online business is NOT a substitute to your jobs. This is only intended as an extra income to help you finance yourself in some expenses at home.

    But let us be straightforward, what is leadership in an online business?

    What is leadership?

    As a graduate of political science course, my view about leadership is that it is a position or a function of a leader. How that was being applied in online business? Leadership can be applied everywhere and can be acquired by everybody. You can be a good leader to your group, organizations, clubs, teams etc. What I am focusing now is that the application of leadership in online business. Team is built to help those people who are not skilled in marketing to earn online. Leadership came in when a person is going to lead the team he built for an online business to be shared by everybody for those who are interested. I set some qualifications that a leader-member must attain when engaged into work-team relationship in online biz. You as a member, If you wanted to involve into online business and join in the team, you must have these qualities:

    1.) A good researcher = You must have this quality before you are going to join a certain program. Make sure you won’t regret. Make sure such program is paying. It’s useless to take a risk to a program that you know already that it is not paying. Make a good research about that program if it is paying or a scam. Usually in online business, they are good from the start, they pay you instantly, but there’s no such thing as forever, cause everything wither like a beautiful flower. Take advantage to it while its paying! Its like eat that food while its hot!

    2.) Risk-Taker = when we joined to a program organized by some group experts, we are not force to join the program. We, ourselves, came to them, inquire what is the program all about. If the program was introduce to you, its up to you if you are going to listen or not. Once you join the team, or once you join the program itself, you must be a risk taker. Online business actually is not considered stable. It’s like kiss your money good bye or you’re lucky to receive your earnings instantly.

    3.) Patience = when you are in a team, especially a team is using the Next-In-Line System, you must be patient enough to wait for your turn when you will be given the promised guaranteed referrals or if not in the NIL system, you must wait and work for your own success. Promote your program if you want to earn. Remember, there’s NO EASY MONEY!

    4.) Perseverance and commitment = if you are eager to earn, you will do or apply different marketing strategies just to earn the program you are joining and not to waste the money you invested. If you’re in a team, you are eager to help yourself and others, if not help yourself because your success depends on your efforts.

    5.) Trust = you must trust your co-members once you are in a team. This is the most important of all to work harmoniously in a work-team relationship. But don’t make any moves that will disappoint others cause once trust is broken, its too hard to get it back. It’s too hard to win the trust of the people. Who will you be for them if you can’t be trusted?

    6.) Team-player = Once you are in the team, you must be a team-player. You must do your part as a member. Make adjustments to whatever consequences might encountered.

    What qualities a leader must possess in these online business? The leader must also have the same qualities of the members, as the leader is also a member to his team. But as the founder, or is having the position of being a leader he must have these qualities:

    1.) A good listener = the team leader must be a good listener to the outcry of his members. He must have listen what are the members’ concerns about the program. He must be aware what are the members’ feedback, suggestions or any other reactions of the system implemented to set some changes for the betterment of his team.

    2.) Motivator/ Trainer = there are lots of first-timers in online business who needs help in online marketing. The leader’s role as the father or founder of the team is to teach them or guide them how to market or promote. The rests will follow and help others too to orient the newbies.

    3.) Honest / Vocal = he must tell the truth and never give false hopes to his members. He must be straightforward about what was really happening to the business he’s organizing. He must be open to his members if there’s a problem encountered at least, the members are there to help and finds solutions for the problem. He must notify his members for his absence. He is not required to be visible all the time but he must let his members feel his presence and would not let them feel and conclude that the leader is negligent.

    4.) Coordination = He must not work alone, must not decide in solo. A leader must coordinate with his members into some concerns before announcing the final decision. You can plot your suggestions, your plans for the team, but you can’t automatically decide that it is final! Consultation is a must! Coordination is needed when you are in a work-team relationship. Members will then cooperate. In that manner less complaints and team can harmoniously work and possibly last longer.

    5.) A good example to his members = Commonly, we saw our leaders as our models. We appreciate them when they does good. We wanted to be like them. A leader must be a good example to his members, in this way people will gain trust and people are there willing to help and becomes more motivated once they see their leaders a good example to everybody.

    6.) Thoughtful to his members = he thinks of his members situation, understands the members needs, must listen what his members wanted to express.
